Enjoy these delightful gardens of Devon based at the Durrant House Hotel near Bideford Devon.

Biddulph Grange Garden is a Grade I-listed Victorian garden located in Biddulph, Staffordshire, owned and managed by the National Trust. Created in the mid-19th century by James Bateman and his wife Maria, it is famous for its "garden rooms" that take visitors on a miniature tour of the world.

Key Highlights & Garden Rooms The garden is designed as a series of immersive, themed compartments connected by tunnels, narrow paths, and rockwork:

  • The Chinese Garden: Features a bright red pagoda, an ornamental bridge, and a landscape based on the Willow pattern design.
  • The Egyptian Court: Includes a pyramid hedge and stone sphinxes leading to a Swiss chalet-like folly.
  • Geological Gallery: A unique Victorian display of fossils and geological strata laid out according to the Biblical days of creation.
  • Stumpery: One of the oldest in the country, featuring intricate formations of old wood and roots.
  • Himalayan Glen & Italian Garden: Further themed areas showcasing rare plants and formal evergreen topiary

We also enjoy a scenic tour with a stop at Sungburys Icecream farm.

Entrance to Bidduplh Grange not included - free for National Trust members.

Single Supplement £120.00 – Singles limited so please book early.
